André Beckershoff is a researcher in the fields of international political economy and social movements. He studied Political Science in Münster, Germany and Toulouse, France, and received his PhD from the University of Tübingen. In 2011/2012, he was Visiting Research Fellow at the National Chengchi University in Taipei, and he conducted further fieldwork in Taiwan in 2014.
He has published several articles and book chapters on the political economy of and social movements in Taiwan, and he co-edited the volume Assessing the Presidency of Ma Ying-jiu in Taiwan, published by Routledge in 2018.
